As countries are different from one another, so are regions within the U.S. Each region and state have their cultural values, principles, and politics. No company large or small, can risk a multi-million or multi-billion-dollar investment without the right on-the-ground support.

You need the right local support to understand the local citizens, the media, and government officials. There is no one-size-fits-all public and government affairs expertise which can simply be achieved by bringing someone from another part of the country.

The leaders in our practice understand each of the stakeholders in our states and regions -critical information which can make the difference in promoting legislation, solving a regulatory issue, organizing grassroots support in favor of a policy or understanding a community driven for a corporate citizenship initiative.

Although we are in the United States and we share a common culture and political system, what works in one state may not work in another.

SGG’s on-the-ground state government relations and public affairs in the southeastern U.S. region will be critical for overseas companies investing in the region.

Large companies such as national oil companies and infrastructure companies cannot simply sign high-level agreements at the federal and state level and then assume that they will be able to address all local grassroots issues. Smaller companies and individual investors, on the other hand, need even more on-the-ground support.

These foreign investors will need U.S. and regional experts to assist in community, media, and government relations among other services.

With over $100 billion in LNG and petrochemical exports expected from Texas and Louisiana alone in the next few decades, the southeast segment of the U.S. will drive the game-changing energy reawakening in the nation spurring economic development throughout the country for decades.

It is in this region primed for economic takeoff that SGG’s State GR & PA operates. And, due to the oncoming energy renaissance, it is in this region that investors are increasingly moving in, making it essential that they select the right state government relations and public affairs expertise.
